Webwise is the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre. They develop resources and run campaigns that promote a better internet. They are currently looking for Youth Ambassadors to take part in Safer Internet Day 2019. The Ambassadors will receive free training in Google HQ this January from their own peers and from the Webwise Team. The Ambassador Programme will provide students with the skills and resources they need to go back to their own schools and run a campaign to tackle cyber bullying and other internet safety issues in their school, club, or local community.

This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for senior students, and also ties into the SPHE curriculum. This year, for the first-time Webwise will also award one Ambassador with a Leadership Award at an exclusive awards ceremony in 2019.

Webwise will provide full training and guidance on setting up a campaign. They allow up to two students from the same school to apply. The closing date for entry is Friday the 30th of November, 2018. Students who are interested can sign up, or they can be nominated.
