Overview
In partnership with Mason Hayes & Curran, and its team of leading lawyers in education, JMB was hosting a half-day webinar on legal matters that impact daily on schools. This is an opportunity not to be missed in ensuring that you have the latest advice and updates.
This year we focused on three main topics which are of current concern to many schools.
- Section 29 Appeals: An overview of the revised procedures with special emphasis on enrolment appeals.
- Managing Student Challenging Behaviour: interventions be tried before suspension or expulsion, investigation, fair procedures, the BOM expulsion meeting itself, documents required, detail needed etc, responsibility or not, of the school to investigate incidents which happen outside school, appeal of a suspension.
- Grievance Procedure: protecting yourself, accusation of bullying by teacher, principal being bullied by teacher, managing the difficult teacher, refusal to co-operate, constant e-mails, refusing to meet Principal, negativity, etc.
Each topic concluded with a question and answer session.
