Training Programme
February 5th/8th/15th and March 5th 2019
These seminars are being hosted by JMB to supplement the regional seminars being held by the DES in teacher centres during the last week of January.
The format of each seminar is a presentation by Department of Education and Skills Inspectors followed by a workshop and Q&A. The duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.
Overview
The Inspectorate is introducing a new model of inspection in February 2019 called Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection. This type of inspection focuses on a school’s compliance with key aspects of the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools 2017.
The seminars will provide an overview of key aspects of Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection including its aims and its features, the checks conducted during the inspection and Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection reports. Participants at the seminar will have an opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection model.

Principals & Chairpersons
Designated Liaison Persons (Principals) are urged to attend this seminar if they were unable to secure a place at a Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspection seminar in one of the education centres.
As the JMB is hosting these additional seminars Chairpersons are also invited to attend.

€20 per person attending.
