Board of Management Online Training 2020 will take place via Zoom on 19th, 21st, 28th November and 8th December. Training will take two and a half hours.
Overview
The Board of Management in-service training programme will provide board members with a clear insight into their roles and responsibilities as board members and the relationship between the board and the trustees.
In looking at the role and functions of the board, particular reference will be made to the Articles of Management, government guidelines and relevant legislation.
Who should attend
The in-service programme is open to all members of Boards of Management in voluntary secondary schools. In particular we would like to encourage the following groups of participants to attend:
- All members of new boards
- New members of existing boards
- Any member of a board who missed last year’s training
- Newly appointed principals
The in-service programme provided board members with a clear insight into the roles and responsibilities of trustees as well as those of a board. In addition the programme concentrated on the responsibility of members of boards of management and the role and functions of the board with particular reference to the Articles of Management and legislation. It is important that all board members are encouraged to undertake regular in-service.
