Each year, schools all over Ireland take part in fundraising activities to support Trócaire’s work in the poorest countries in the world.
Filling Trócaire boxes is a proud tradition in Irish schools, and one that helps to bring relief and support to almost 3 million people in the developing world each year.
Due to school closures this year, many schools were unable to take part in Trócaire’s Lenten Appeal. Many parents will have Trócaire boxes at home but have been unable to return them.
Trócaire has warned that school closures may see them lose up to 60% of their Lenten donations. This would have a devastating impact in the communities where they work.
With schools still closed, Trócaire is asking people to return their Trócaire box donations in other ways.
Please count or estimate what is in your Trócaire box and make a donation online at www.trocaire.org or over the phone at 1850 408 408 (RoI) or 800 912 1200 (NI).
Donations to Trócaire during Lent save lives in the poorest countries in the world. Please support this campaign and return your Trócaire box donation online or over the phone.
