Ms. Christine West, Assistant General Secretary and the School Management Advisory team will present two training sessions on the one day on Staffing Allocations for 2024/2025 and the new Bullying and Harassment / Sexual Harassment in the workplace Policies and Codes of Practice.
Two Seminars, One Day
1. Staffing Allocations
This session will provide an overview of the allocations process, how the allocation is arrived at for your school, completing returns for the DE and examples of eligibility for CIDs. Individual consultations with JMB staff will take place after the seminar as required. We are delighted and very appreciative that Mr Gabriel Martin, Department of Education, with overall responsibility for allocations will attend and speak at each seminar. This session is primarily aimed at principals, however deputy principal’s or those involved in timetabling are also welcome.
2. Bullying and Harassment/Sexual Harassment Policies
This year alongside the normal allocation seminars, we are also holding a session on the new Bullying and Harassment/Sexual Harassment Policies in the workplace Policies and Code of Practice for school staff outlining the most up to date practices in these areas. The presentations will cover up to date definitions, mediation, informal, and formal processes in relation to these topics as well as having case studies so that participants can apply their knowledge to practical examples.
The JMB will reference a suite of training developed on an online platform with Legal Island. There are three training modules: (1) for all employees, (2) for contact persons and (3) for the nominated persons.
