The National Centre for Guidance in Education wishes to invite schools to take part in a longitudinal research study over the next three academic years, from September 2021 until May 2024.
In 2020, NCGE developed three units of learning to support schools based on the Whole School Guidance competencies framework. This research seeks to evaluate the impact of these resources and NCGE wishes to gain an in-depth understanding of the perspectives of students and Guidance Counsellors towards all aspects of Guidance at Junior Cycle.
NCGE states: ‘We are actively looking for schools who have not yet had the opportunity to utilize the Guidance Related Learning content to date. School participation will be anonymized as part of the larger research study and the identity of participating individuals will also be fully confidential and data anonymized at all times. An initial meeting with relevant parties in each school will discuss all further detail including how to access support in implementing the units of learning if and when needed’.
