The Public Examinations Examined was recently published as a World Bank book. The book is co-authored by the late Thomas Kellaghan (the founder and former Director of the ERC) and Vincent Greaney. It is available free to download on World Bank Group website.

High-stakes public examinations exert a dominant influence on education systems in Asia, Africa, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. They tend to have a major influence on teacher and student behavior, especially at the middle and upper levels of secondary education.
