The Board of Directors of the Secretariat of Secondary Schools is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Deirdre Matthews as AMCSS/JMB General Secretary.
Deirdre has been President of AMCSS/JMB and Chairperson of the Secretariat since June 2018 and is currently principal at St Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk. Our new General Secretary brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and management to her new role. Beginning her career as a teacher of religion and geography, Deirdre has since been closely involved with NCCA as Education Officer; Chairperson of the NCCA’s LCA Development Group; member of our JMB National SEN Advisory Group and is a current Director of both the Catholic Schools Partnership and the Association of Patrons and Trustees of Catholic Schools.
We wish Deirdre every blessing and success as our organisation continues to build on the outstanding work of her predecessors and her colleagues across the membership and staff of the Secretariat.
